When Wakan came on the scene in 2019, I knew he would be perfect for two of my girls: Zodi and Scotch.
Zodi came out of retirement to have a litter with Wakan (in 2019) and now it is Scotch’s turn! This will be Scotch’s final litter as well.
Our first litter with Wakan brought a surprise… long-coated Labradors! There were 2 born in Zodi’s litter (see our boy Bear). The odds of producing long-coated Labradors when breeding two pedigreed/purebred labs together is 1 in 60,000! Because the gene IS so rare and only a coat length trait (with no health impact), it is not routinely tested for.
However after the appearance of the two puppies, I tested several of my dogs and discovered that not only did Zodi carry one hidden copy of the gene but her daughter Scotch does too… as does Wakan!
So we already know that Scotch’s litter with Wakan will very likely include some long-coated Labradors. Statistics say 25% of the litter should be long-coated.
This litter should be a stunning litter. Not only will their coats be unique (both in colour and for some… length) but Scotch’s previous litters have proven to me that she produces puppies with gorgeous temperaments and lovely builds. (My boy Rain is from her first litter with Saba. My girl Luff is from her second litter with ArtiZen.)
Stunning looks, great temperaments and a lovely mix of sweet/cuddliness but with energy available for the asking… this is truly a litter like no other.
