Overview

Unlike a lot of breeders, I don’t have a “waiting list”. Instead I have an application process. Those with approved applications are welcome to reserve a spot on an upcoming litter’s reservation list or select from available puppies.

Step 1: The Application Process

There are two parts to the application process. The first is to submit a QUICK form. This is a brief multiple choice questionnaire that helps me to determine if there is likely to be a good fit between your home environment and a Skylit puppy.

If the QUICK form indicates there is likely to be a good fit, I will send you a link to the INFO GATHERING form which is a far more in depth form that will help me to help you find the right Skylit puppy!

Once your INFO GATHERING form has been reviewed, if approved, approval is good for 1 year. Don’t worry though… if you haven’t found the litter that is right for you in that amount of time, it’s very easy to renew.

Step 2: The Puppy Purchase Process

The Puppy Purchase Process varies slightly depending on whether the puppies are not yet born, just born, or older than 7 weeks of age. The following chart details how the process works.

Pricing

Several factors go into determining the price of Skylit puppies including the parents-to-be genetics, earned titles/qualifications, and pedigrees. Depending on when your application is submitted/approved and your deposit is received will determine the price of your puppy.

Earlier applications & deposits benefit from being able to lock in the "Planned Breeding" price for a litter. The "Planned Breeding" price for a litter is never more than (and can be less than) the eventual "Litter" price (which goes into effect once pregnancy is confirmed).

Deposits & Refunds

Due to the current “puppy climate” in New Zealand, breeding is subject to a Planned Breeding’s reservation list reaching 75% full at the time the parents-to-be would be ready to breed. If you have a deposit on a Planned Breeding that unfortunately does not take place or is significantly delayed, I am happy to refund your deposit or you can choose to shift it to another upcoming litter.

Deposits are not refundable should you change your mind about getting a puppy from Skylit.

Skylit Labradors reserves the right to cancel any reservation at any time and return any monies paid to date prior to the Lab departing Skylit for their new family.
